Nilson attended the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, he did not know anything about the Evangelical Church, nor had he heard about it. He was invited by a young woman to go to a youth service, there were going to be a lot of people, Nilson thought it was an invitation to go because this girl wanted to date him, and he decided to go to the service. The pastor who was preaching the word of God and at a certain point came close to Nilson, grabbed him by the ear and said that he belonged there. And then he decided to stay in that church and started studying the bible, he had never read the bible because in the catholic church they only listened but the bible was not read in church. Nilson stood in front of the church, wrote down everything the pastor said, and after some time he understood that the difference between the Catholic and Evangelical churches was the way they preached about Jesus, and that was his conversion. After learning a lot, he started to travel around Brazil, recorded some cds, but had not yet understood the focus of the mission, Pastor Nilson says that he even contributed to missions, but I did not understand this missionary focus as he understands it today. God spoke a lot to his heart and his wife and they went from Brazil to Portugal and so they met Pastor Daniel de Freitas and took over a church, the Portuguese community in Porto, then they went to Coimbra and have been there for three years. Pastor Nilson reports that when he arrived in Portugal he found it very difficult to empty himself, empty himself of knowledge, and learn to build a new story, start a new job in Portugal, a new way of working, and let God bring something new to your heart, new revelations. Also adapting to a new culture in this new country, understanding that everything is different, and Portugal being an idolatrous country, many Portuguese have a wrong view of the gospel. Bearing in mind all the transformations that need to go through, Pastor Nilson and his wife Jane continue to evangelize mainly in the city of Coimbra, they carry out evangelism work in Portuguese villages, minister worship in homes, with times of worship and bible reading. There have already been several testimonies of people surrendering at the feet of Jesus, and being freed, God has made the work grow every day and blessed.
